Hi! My name is Dan and I'm an experienced instructor with over 15 years of teaching experience and 10 years of industry experience. I've taught at McGill University and Dawson college and worked at Microsoft and Ericsson as a software developer. I have a Masters in Computer Science from McGill and BSc in Math and Computer Science from McGill.
I'm offering tutoring either in person in the Montreal downtown area or online for all ages. I realize the subjects offered sound like a huge mix of things, but I promise these passions are all related! All of them require practicing and developing a similar mindset, to be able to logically figure out the problems you're facing.
My largest experiences have been with high school and college/university level students, but I've also worked with students as young as 6 (although despite the picture in the ad, I've never managed to teach a cat any of these skills!)
My areas of expertise include the below:
Computers:
-Java, C#, C/C++, Python, Javascript/node.js, Databases, Algorithms, AI
Math:
-Calculus, Statistics, Probability, Algebra, Linear Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Analysis
Chess:
-I'm a national expert with a peak ELO of over 2200 (both FQE and CFC). I'm currently working on becoming a national master but still have some ways to go!
Rates:
I charge the following rates. Discounts are available for bulk purchases.
